Ricevo e pubblico. Devo ammettere che le speranze che la cosa andasse in porto erano davvero poche. La 20th Centuty Fox è un caimano con il quale certe battaglie si possono solo perdere: anche se hanno troncato Firefly perché la serie era costosa e poco seguita, probabilmente sperano ancora di lucrare sul merchandising (libri, fumetti, giochi di ruolo, dvd, blu-ray e gadgets), materiale che continuerà ad essere prodotto e apprezzato da coloro che quella serie l'hanno scoperta e che si sono accorti subito che si trattava di un piccolo gioiellino. Alla domanda: sareste disposti a cedere i diritti della serie a una associazione che possa finanziare un eventuale seguito? hanno risposto come ci si aspettava: NO.Ecco il comunicato rilasciato dai Browncoats. People still wonder, “Can we start the ball rolling and buy/fund Firefly?”
Unfortunately, the short answer is: No. The critical first hurdle has always been this: Will Twentieth Century Fox negotiate with a fan-funded organization over Firefly continuation rights? We’ve been told, sadly, that’s not possible at this time. As such, we can’t even raise funds with the hope of rights acquisition. We do sincerely hope that Fox and Mr. Whedon will eventually get Serenity back in the sky, whether on television, the silver screen, or elsewhere. But, for now, this is not the way.
